104-10120-10117: SECURITY SUPPORT TO PROJECT VENOM

7/23/70 memo from Charles Kane, CIA Security Field Office in Miami, to Headquarters, Chief/VENOM: The chief of intelligence is reporting that Gerry Hemming and Roy Hargraves (who have previous involvement in Project Seal) are working with Yvonne Vidal Santiago, who states that he is planning an attack that will result in anti-Castro Cubans firing missiles into the Guantanamo Naval Base - or cause conventional Cuban forces to attack the base, - in either event spurring an all-out war between US and Cuba.

104-10218-10002: SUBJECT: LA BORDE, LAWRENCE JOSEPH.

8/21/70: In response to a prospective employer's questions about Larry Laborde, the Chief, WH Security Office told HQ that "Project VENOM has advised our Miami Field Office that Subject was in fact of interest to one of its predecessor units in the past and VENOM files contain derogatory information about this individual."

3/19/71, re Security Support to Project VENOM: "The security officer of Southern Bell Telephone Company, Miami, Florida, has advised that one Roy Hargraves has been contacting telephone company repairmen in an attempt to find the names of former telephone company employees who were cable repairmen. His purpose was to learn the location of underwater cables between the mainland and Cuba. FBI contacted by security officer and they are aware of Hargraves and describe as 'soldier of fortune' type...Southern Bell concerned over possibility of possible sabotage to cables..."

104-10130-10469: WACKENHUT CORPORATION RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED ON THE USE OF SUBJECT CORP. AND UNOFFICAL CONTACT WITH EMPLOYEES OF CORP.

4/20/71: CIA HQ memo reminding the Miami field office that restrictions exist on the Wackenhut Corporation since 1967 and any use by Project VENOM would need special approval.

05/05/71: Memo from SAC MFO to HDQS: Subject: Ricky Morales: "1. South Miami police contact advised MFO today that one Ricky Morales has been representing himself as agency operative at Miami's Four Ambassadors Hotel with mission to make an approach to local mafia. 2. MFO has discussed with VENOM security officer and it appears Morales probably IDENT to Ricardo Anibal Morales (Navarette) OS File 380 858 OA ID/1 who was utilized by VENOM briefly in 64. 3. Local FBI office also recently queried VENOM about Morales. 4. Request HDQS review file 380 858 and advise MFO if anything pertinent contained therein."
