104-10174-10334: DISPATCH: OPERATIONAL/AMSPELL PROGRESS REPORT - JULY 1962

8/14/62 report from Chief, JMWAVE to Chief, TFW. The plan for Operation Olympus was to parachute into an airdrop zone and set up propaganda programs for the guerilla movement. The one air drop committed for this mission failed, because most air support was going to the strike force for the Bay of Pigs. Alberto Muller and 80 other men were captured. Although the exile leaders accepted the reasons given for the lack of air support, the underground did not and became very embittered towards the CIA.
