Information to date had been result hard work and clever solicitation on part LITAMIL-2, within framework of his being a (Cuban) exile and a personal friend...Station now studying best possible approaches.

DIR 73124, MHVIPER slugline: "Overt situation: Electrical power plants in Cuba in bad shape and badly in need replacement parts if they are to continue operating. Source of these parts other than U.S. companies are in order of ability CGEE, English Electric, Spanish GE and some West German firms. This gives us excellent grounds for approaching CGEE and developing local source...HQS requests...whether a plausible source of such info other than LITAMIL-13 can be created."
