Cryptonym: AMOT-84
Jose Caragol Aragon was a contact and source of AMOT-84's in 1962. Other sources used by AMOT-84 included Abelardo Garcia Berry, Vidal Guillermo Morales Rodriguez, Hector Fortun Fargas, AMTAUP-2 (probably Armando Alanis Angulo), and AMLINT-1 (probably Jose Gomez Rodriguez).
See FBI 105-82555 Oswald HQ File, Section 130, p. 20: Another possible identity for AMOT-84, is Jorge Antonio Martinez Soto, aka George Martinez, who attended the Belen School. He was also the one who went to the Parrot Jungle, and thought he might have made a reference to Castro that was "misinterpreted" by an employee at being directed at JFK.

06/21/61: Cable from JMWAVE to BELL - note marginalia for 201-269349 - Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo) "1. AMOT-84 obtained FOLL reactions of members of the liberation army over charges that Miro Cardona asked for release of Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo and had interview with latter: A. Guillermo Fernandez Mascaro Ybarra, PM trainee, said this was last straw. If persons like Gutierrez are now involved in the Cuban affair, only thing left to do is get job and go elsewhere as he unwilling work with commies and traitors such as Gutierrez. B. Enrique Casares Blanco, member of AMFAST (the apparent core of Operation 40, a hundred selected Cubans trained to serve as counterintelligence - CI - officers and future government leaders), said he would tear apart anyone who told him to go to Cuba with Miro or Gutierrez. C. Rogelio Antonio Fernandez Ichaso, trainee 3629, said Cuban liberation now in hands of commies if Miro and Gutierrez take part in it. If Miro is not commie then he is puppet of reds if he is connected with Gutierrez and helped him get released from confinement by American authorities. D. Jose Ramon Carrazana Trimino, trainee 3756, said it incredible that U.S. Govt had let Gutierrez go free and this would contribute to destruction of attempts to achieve unity of the groups, especially since it now known that Gutierrez will join the front. E. Jaime Torano Rodriguez, J.R., member of AMFAST, said that after the interview between Miro and Gutierrez, solution of Cuban problem seemed further away than ever. 2. WAVE unaware Miro Cardona sponsored or was responsible for getting Gutierrez released. Whether true or not the story is inciting strong local reaction. Can HQs provide any details?"
12/05/61: Dispatch from COS, WAVE to Chief, WH Division: "1. On 8 November 1961, AMOT-84 interviewed Elio MAS in the DRE offices located on 3rd Avenue SW, Miami, Florida. MAS, who now represents the DRE in the Revolutionary Council, was a former classmate of AMOT-84 in the Belen School. 2. According to AMOT-84's memorandum, dated 10 November 1961, the two men discussed a variety of topics, including the Cuban problem in general, the DRE, the MRP, and the 30 of November Movement. MAS' comments, as reported by AMOT-84, are set forth below: A. The Cuban Problem: MAS believes that nothing decisive will occur before the end of 1961, but that the Cuban problem will be solved by the United States within the first six months of 1962. MAS emphasized that all Cubans in exile should enlist in the US Army, Navy or Air Force since they will, in the future, constitute the Armed Forces of Cuba and will participate in the war against the Castro-Communist regime. B. The Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil (DRE): MAS explained that the sole objective of the DRE was to take the war to Cuba and he admitted that they (the DRE) had organized a new training camp where approximately 12 persons were receiving training. He pointed out that the DRE had entered the Revolutionary Council with the aim of waging war against CASTRO; however, they have discovered that the Council members are more concerned with politics and quarreling among themselves, even to the extent of creating internal problems within their own organizations - for example, the case of RESCATE and the Cuban Revolutionary Workers Front (FORD), and the Independent Triple A and Mr. COBOS rather than in preparing for war and discussing plans for the underground." AMOT-84's 11/10/61 memo with Mas is 104-10233-10304 - it will take careful reading to make out much of this faint document.
