1964: Routing sheet and Memorandum for the Record from Chief, SR/O/AC Peter Kapusta to C/SR/CI/I: "If your time permits, this is the second of the two I discussed with you (spotted through my AEEXPLORE program)...Memorandum for the Record - Irving Amron - Subject responded to the AEEXPLORE ad for a position as a Russian language linguist...the undersigned used the Paul Peters alias and DOD cover." At page 10 of 55: "According to Subject, his objective in life is now to work for the US government. He states that he has submitted Form 57 to a number of the US government agencies (he did not elaborate). In applying for the position under AEEXPLORE, Subject asked for $10,000 per annum which is his asking price for a position with the US government..." Page 14 shows that Irving Amron, born in Brooklyn, lost his citizenship for a period of time after returning from his residency in the USSR until it was returned by the State Dept. in 1962. Page 18: For a number of years up to 1962, Amron worked for the USSR Chamber of Commerce and the Foreign Trade Publishing House, writing reports for International Congresses and road-building technical manuals, until he sought "repatriation" in 1962. Page 36: In 1931, at age 13, Amron left for the USSR with his parents, where his father worked as an agronomist. He worked from 1955 to 1962 trying to return to the US, even though the Soviets did not want him to leave due to his status as a native-born American.
