Frame-Up

Harold Weisberg's classic on the murder of Martin Luther King Jr., Frame-Up, is now being republished by the Mary Ferrell Foundation. It can be ordered now from the MFF Store.

Originally published in 1970 and re-released in 1993, Frame-Up examines the circumstances of the murder, accused assassin James Earl Ray's flight and capture, and the failures of the justice system in this case.

While many books about the King assassination have followed Frame-Up, this work remains the definitive account of the circumstances which led Ray to plead guilty in a grossly inadequate "mini-trial," and Ray's almost immediate attempt to retract this confession.

Two chapters of this book are unlocked for online reading:

   • Chapter 1. Will the Real James Earl Ray/Ramon George Sneyd Please Stand Up?.    • Chapter 9. The Minitrial.
