On 7/25/59, Edgar Sopo was preparing to meet Pujol, Francisco Couceiro and Francisco Rodriguez Tamayo in Washington, DC. Pujol and Couceiro were competing for leadership of CRAC. MM T-1 aka MM 639-S/Howard K. Davis reported to the FBI.

11/22/63, Cable from Director to JMWAVE: Sluglines TYPIC AMSWEEP AMSUM: "1. Re para 5 ref request, AMSWEEP-1 debriefing week 10-16 November reveals following: Late July early August 63 former Naval Academy classmate of AMSUM-5, Segundo Suarez, attempted recruit AMSUM-5. Approach reported by AMSUM-5 to AMSWEEP-8 who advised AMSWEEP-1. AMSWEEP-1 suggested it unwise for AMSUM-5 to accept and subsequent inquiries of AMSWEEP-8 indicated AMSUM-5 heeded this advice. At time Suarez claimed he was employed in Havana shipyards. At no time during debriefing was AMCUT-3 name mentioned by AMSWEEP-1 or case officer. 2. Above simply summary of complex situation. Forwarded by cable in event WAVE has opportunity immediate future meet AMCUT-3 detailed account AMSWEEP-1 involvement AMSWEEP-8, AMSUM-5 will be pouched. 3. No HQs traces Suarez. C/S Comment: *Requested HQs keep WAVE fully informed any info received from AMSWEEP-1 complex which may relate AMSUM-5."
