Ricardo Rafael Sardinas Sanchez was also assigned the cryptonym AMGUPPY-1.

A cable in December, 1960, stated that "review of HQs file indicates AMLOON-1 is former vice president of Colonos organization."

A dispatch in January of 1961 stated that "on 2 January 1961 AMLOON told Crabanac (Howard Hunt) that he had been informed by Jose Luis Rivero that Rivero and 24 others were forming a new Frente, one 'responsive to Cuban public opinion.'" The dispatch also noted that "AMLOON told Rivero that his name could not be used in such a connection and said that if Rivero did so he, AMLOON, an old and intimate friend, would attack him publicly. To Crabanac AMLOON said that he suspected QDDALE (William D. Pawley) was behind the Rivero move and asked Crabanac to hold the approach in strict confidence."

01/03/61 dispatch from Chief of Base, JMWAVE to Chief, WHD: "1. On 2 January 1961 AMLOON told Crabanac (Howard Hunt) that he had been informed by Jose Luis Rivero that Rivero and 24 others were forming a new Frente, one 'responsive to Cuban public opinion.' AMLOON told Rivero that his name could not be used in such a connection and said that if Rivero did so he, AMLOON, an old and intimate friend, would attack him publicly. To Crabanac AMLOON said that he suspected QDDALE (William D. Pawley) was behind the Rivero move and asked Crabanac to hold the approach in strict confidence. 3. AMLOON said that the list of manifesto-signers and new-front-formers included Dr. Rubio Padilla, Pablo Freyre and Cuervo Rubio, as might be expected. Dr. Antonio Maceo, however, had declined the invitation. 4. AMLOON commented that while he held Rubio in high esteem he feared that Rubio desired a dictatorship of the Right in Cuba which AMLOON felt could lead only to chaos. He remarked that if forced to choose between the Left as represented by Ing. Manuel Ray and the Right as represented by his friend Rubio, he would choose what Ray represented."
